First Men's Conference: "Men United in Prayer"
I am excited about what is in store for
us this coming year. One of these milestones is the Men's Conference scheduled
on February 16-18, 2006. You may have heard about it in our previous updates but
I am taking this opportunity to invite you to this event. This is going to be
the first-ever men's conference organized by our fellowship. It will be held at
the Christian Development Center in Tagaytay City. The cost of the registration,
to include meals, accommodation and materials is P1,300.00 per person.
The theme for this conference is
"Men United in Prayer." Dr. Joseph Tkach, Mr. Bill Sidney and Bishop
Ephraim Tendero, national director of PCEC, are among the speakers for this
event. There will also be a chance for small group sharing, discussions and
times of personal reflection. This is going to be a refreshing event for
deepening our relationship with God and bonding with our fellow brothers in the
faith. A combined service in Metro Manila is also being planned on February 19,
2006 with Dr. Tkach as speaker. --Eugene Guzon, National Director

WCG Participates in Franklin Graham's Festival of Hope
It took one year’s preparation for the Metro Manila Franklin Graham Festival (MMFGF) - Festival of Hope Feb. 2-5, 2006. It involved the mobilizing of various congregations and denominations under the umbrella of namely, the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), the Pentecostals, as well as various independent churches in Metro Manila and nearby municipalities.
ND Eugene Guzon & Andrew Teng were involved as members of the Ministers Committee chaired by Bishop Fred Magbanua. It was exciting to see so many people gathered to hear the gospel being shared. It was also exciting to see our WCG leaders and members getting involved in harvesting lost souls. A number of our leaders and members volunteered as counselors, co-laborers and some joined the 3,000 voices of the MMFGF Choir. It was also exciting to see some of our leaders and members who came from distant places like Pampanga, Bulacan, San Pedro, Sta. Rosa, & other areas got involved. Pistang Pambata (Festival for kids) was held Feb. 4 Sat. 8-10 am with so many children (the biggest crowed gathered in the four days).
The MMFGF fostered unity among Christians of different persuasions in winning souls for the great harvest. All for the glory and honor of a loving God! --Andrew Teng
Plain Truth Commentary in Kalibo
The
radio station which used to broadcast Plain Truth Commentary (PTC) in
Kalibo has stopped operation for quite sometime now. However, Mrs. Martinez
tried to canvass for the prevailing rates of some radio stations in their area
and God has blessed them with a 30-minute program (once a week) slot at P 550.00
/ broadcast, the current lowest rate so far.
We are happy to announce that the initial airing of the program is scheduled on February 11, 2006 from 6:00-6:30 pm and every Saturday thereafter at RMN-DYKR Kalibo AM station, 1161 khz. Coverage of this Plain Truth on Radio Program aside from Aklan includes Masbate, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Roxas & Antique. We are therefore requesting everyone to please join us in prayers that people will hear the voice of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ through every message.
Message from Mrs. Fe Martinez: "It is so exciting what God will accomplish in this undertaking. Thanks for being our prayer partner! May He bless us with more listeners to be touched by His love and power thru every message that we air. And may every CD that we play have the anointing of the Holy Spirit and that every message will have God's power to minister to the listeners." --Doris Manubay
WCG Catbalogan Celebrates 22nd Church Anniversary
January 14, 2006, the WCG Catbalogan celebrated its 22nd Church Anniversary. In the morning there was worship service where the Pastor spoke on the topic: "God wants all men to be saved" based on I Tim 2 and 3. During lunch time there was sumptuous meal enjoyed by the brethren. In the afternoon a bible study and prayer session were held plus the Pastoral family gave simple tokens to the brethren in grateful appreciation of the brethren's continued support for the Work of God. The Pastor encouraged the brethren to write in a sheet of paper their one prayer request and their one commitment to the Lord for this year. The prayer requests of the brethren will also be prayed by Pastor many times this year as part of his commitment. One family who was not attending for a long time attended the celebration and this brought joy to the brethren as well. The brethren went home blessed by God. --Danny de Guia
Comments from our Readers/Web Surfers
"Hi! I used to go to this church as a kid with my grandfather, and have been in my teens also. I remember having fun and learning about christianity and most of all i cannot forget the songs i have sang from the hymnal. There are songs that keep playing in my mind and i never finish one whole song that i go through it over and over. Then i thought i may find it in the internet, then i found this, which make me miss the church even more. I am not active in any church right now as i thought i would be able to join this church again one day soon. And there is no Worldwide Church of God where i am right now." --Anonymous, 1/31/2006

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you." (2 Thessalonians 3:1)
