14th National Board Meeting Held, ND Attends Haggai Institute in Hawaii
The nine members of the National Board convened at
the ISSI Building at UP Diliman, Quezon City last Saturday, June 3, 2006 for its 14th board meeting to fulfill its role of assuring that the WCG Philippines is
serving God in response to his will. After the board
meeting, Chairman Max Fabricante invited the board to a dinner to celebrate his 60th birthday as well as
his 4th year as the chairman of the board. Amidst very loud thunder and lightning, heavy rains and a roofing that keeps on leaking everywhere, some of
the board members joined the chairman and enjoyed the evening in a restaurant where there were no walls although it was cold. The chairman was very thankful to God for
allowing him to reach 60 and continue to be of service to Him. The board members appreciated the chairman for his contribution and dedication to the board.
The following day, Sunday morning, National Director Eugene Guzon left for Hawaii to attend the Advanced Leadership Training of the Haggai Institute. An Area Superintendent's meeting was presided over by Dr. Rey Taniajura Sunday morning. It was an enjoyable and profitable weekend with much accomplished. --Len Joson
Manila Church Gains Foothold in Valenzuela
WCG-Manila's 33 volunteer workers, spearheaded by Ptr. Joe Liao, his wife Evelyn and all their 4 daughters, joined the A-Cross Foundation in conducting the Medical-Dental-Optical Mission in Brgy. Malanday, Valenzuela City on May 30-31, 2006. A total of 923 patients were served on May 30 by the medical team of A-Cross Foundation composed of 5 physicians, 4 dentists, 1 optometrist, 1 pharmacist, 7 nurses, and 5 volunteers. A-Cross is the same team which rendered services in the medical mission conducted at Barangay Forestry, Quezon City on January 15, 2006.
The first day of the mission in Malanday was a successful one. However, all the volunteers faced a challenging night right after day one. Our problem: no venue for day 2. Our challenge: looking for a place to continue the mission for the next day. We did not want to disappoint the people of Malanday because they were expecting us to come back the following day. At around 10:00 pm, we received word from Ptr. Roman Saynes (the missions coordinator) that the 2nd day mission is cancelled. We all felt disheartened, but nevertheless, God worked with wonder! Just before midnight, Ptr. Roman said in his text message, "Mga kapatid, sugod! Tuloy ang laban ni Kristo sa Malanday! May nakuha nang venue para bukas! It was at Malanday Baptist Church where Evelyn Liao's sister, Bessy is a member. Baptist Church Pastor Nick Sto.Domingo readily allowed WCG-Manila to use their church hall for the mission. That was an answered-prayer!
There was 466 patients who came on May 31. A team of WCG counselors provided counseling and prayer to the patients. Manila Church has been gaining experience in medical missions since it started in Brgy. Forestry and followed by the Dental Mission held in Sampaloc, Manila on March 04, 2006. As Manila Church gained foothold in Valenzuela, we are all excited about the church-planting program in Malanday. It is just a matter of
time -- in Christ's time, that we will realize the reality of our dream, the opening of the Worldwide Church of God-Valenzuela, for God's honor and glory. --Frank

WCG - Manila South Conducts Follow-up SVCs from VBS at Calamba City
For three consecutive Sunday afternoons (May 21, 28 & June 4, 2006), the WCG-Manila South conducted a Bible Study by Pastoral Chairman Nomer Venus at the residence of Mr-s Ardel Magararu at Brgy Prinza Subd, Calamba City. Ptr Nomer Venus taught the graduates of VBS & others who attended the blessings promised by God from the Book of Ephesians thru a series of lectures. He plans to cover the entire Book, as God permits, every Sunday afternoon. Attendances were as follows: May 21 was thirty kids, on May 28 - seventeen kids and June 4 – was Eighteen kids. The abrupt reduction in attendance was due to heavy rains that hindered the kids from coming.
Please, kindly pray for the success of our Ministry to the kids. We are also hoping that we could guide the kids to follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ to make them a good example to the community, schools & their respective homes.
WCG-Manila South also conducted a VBS at the residence of
Mr-s Romancito Guerrero, Southern Heights, Langgam, San Pedro, Laguna for 5 successive Sundays from
SFCLU Church Conducts DVBS at Banks, Poro, OBS
San Fernando City, La Union. About 50 children and 14
youths were shared with the gospel during the annual Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) conducted by the SFCLU Church here in Banks, Poro, San Fernando City
(LU) last May 18-20, 2006. There were twelve (12) teachers alternating for each level. This year’s theme is “Home Planet: Caring for God’s Creation”
with Colossians 1:16 as its main text.
It was a joyous and memorable event as it
was the first time for the people here to witness and be part of this occasion. To express our gratitude before God, a Thanksgiving Worship Service was
conducted here on May 21, 2006, Sunday. After the sumptuous lunch, it was time to dip to the alluring beach. --Pastor Danny Funesto
WCG - Antipolo on it's 7th Year
God had provided the Antipolo Congregation two sites for the Celebration of its 7th year anniversary on May 21, 2006. One site was the AGH building in Antipolo City where weekly services are being held and the other was at Fairmont Subdivision Antipolo City. What a blessing! Indeed, it was answered prayer, were all what the brethren could say.
The whole day affair started with a morning worship service at AGH building followed by a heavy snack. After this all the brethren proceeded to a beautiful home with a pool in Fairmont Subdivision owned by Atty. Manny Albano and his wife Sol. (Atty. Albano is a member of the Pastoral Team of Crossway Ministries). The love and generosity of the couple made possible the remaining activities for the rest of the day. As lunch was being prepared, Teacher Glenda Galo initiated the games for children, youths and adults as well. After a hearty lunch all the children, some youths and adults had a dip in the clean pool. The weather was at its best for every one to enjoy swimming until five o’ clock in the afternoon. Culmination of the activities is the giving of awards to all winners of the games. Acknowledgement and words of appreciation were conferred to the host and to all who helped in the preparation of the successful event. Attendance was seventy-two. --Letty Mamaradlo
