Church Revival in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro Yields 12 new Baptized Souls

After 2 years of no ministers from WCG office visiting the Bansud Church, or having no worship service being conducted due to dispersal of its members, a vision of church planting has emerged through the initiative of my father-in-law, Bro. Bernardo Cuizon. Daily Bible Study has been conducted in Bgy. Malo, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, and in Bansud Proper after the Baguio festivities. Manila South Church gave 20 New Testament Bibles to my father in law to start the bible study, and maybe he was inspired by the meetings of Manila South members regarding church planting and baptisms while we were in Baguio. My parents-in-law have not missed the Baguio festivities ever since and we stayed in the same cottage. There has been a joy in teaching the new believers according to my father-in-law as I also agreed. 12 new souls were baptized, 7 of which were Mangyans, last Saturday by Ptr. Manny Ornejas and me. --Nomer Venus

Area Superintendents Meeting, "Fan the Flame"

After the 17th board meeting held last Saturday (January 13), National Director Eugene Guzon met with the area superintendents for 2 days (January 14-15) in Manila to discuss upcoming plans and objectives for the year 2007. Among others, ND Eugene announced that the theme for this year is "Fan the Flame" (2 Timothy 1:6-7). Various trainings will also be re-activated like the Foundations for Christian Leadership to address the continuing need to equip new leaders in various ministries.

On a personal level, the national director and area superintendents also shared with everyone their family's highlights and personal ministry successes and/or frustrations during the year 2006. Everyone went home tired after the series of meetings but optimistic and excited with what God has in store for the WCG Philippines for the year 2007.
