ND Eugene Guzon attends MOA Signing of PCEC and KCEC

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo congratulates National Director Eugene Guzon.

Last October 30, ND Eugene Guzon accompanied by Rex Dela Pena attended the breakfast meeting hosted by the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) at Holiday Inn, in Ortigas. It was the signing of the 7-point Memorandum of Agreement between PCEC and its counterpart in Korea, the KCEC.

The occasion was graced by the Senate President Manuel Villar and his wife, Congresswoman Cynthia Villar who read the message of the Senate President to the Filipino and Korean heads of denominations assembled there.

After the breakfast, the PCEC led by Bishop Eph Tendero and KCEC paid a courtesy call to President Gloria Macapagal. The Heroes Hall was the venue for the brunch hosted by President Arroyo in appreciation to what the MOA stands for. It aims for an intentional partnership between Philippine and Korean churches for nation-building and countryside development and improvement. The MOA also indicates the support that the Philippine churches can expect from its Korean counterpart in the training and evangelizing of different people groups. In return, the Korean churches will also host Filipino pastors for further training in cross-cultural missions. --Rex Dela Pena
