For a long time, brethren from Region 8 was not able to see each other. Thanks to the Almighty God for the timely visit of the National Director Eugene Guzon, and the Assistant Area Superintendent for the Visayas, Jessup Bahinting and his wife Ma’am Margie. In preparation for the visit the Area Superintendent George Escara had talked with the leaders in Region 8. The visit was dubbed as a Regional Conference and this was held March 16, 2008, at the University of the Philippines Multi Purpose Hall, Tacloban City. In the morning Worship Service was held where 95 brethren attended.
Ptr. Jessup Bahinting shared during the devotional about evangelism. After the devotional, the News Reel 2007 was shown to the delight of the brethren. The sermon was given by Ptr. Eugene Guzon, entitled, Building on our strong foundation: Go 4 8 based on (Matthew 16:18). After the sermon the children presented a dance number entitled “Luwalhatiin Ka.”
In the afternoon after lunch, there was a blessing of children ceremony. After that, a re-commissioning ceremony was done for the Pastoral Team of Tacloban Church headed by Pastor Art Reyes as Chairman, and Members are: Mr. Jun Zeta, Mr. Gregg Dumagsa, Mr. Dario Cinco, Mrs. Bernadeth Cinco, and Mrs. Minerva Molo. The Child Dedication and Re-Commissioning Ceremony were done by Ptr. Eugene and Ptr. Jessup.
The National Director presented to the Tacloban Church their certificate of accreditation as a local church, and followed with a lecture by him about Church Growth. Later, the National Director grouped the brethren into their local churches, and each congregation was requested to come up with their wishes for their church and to come up with simple strategies on how those wishes will come true. After the workshop, the brethren were able to see the many possibilities where the promise of Jesus that He will build his church will come true and the National Director encouraged the brethren that they can rely on the promise of Jesus that He will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. In the end praise song was sung and the Regional Conference was ended with a prayer from the National Director Ptr. Eugene Guzon. --Pastor Dan de Guia

Small Group Prayer Meeting at National Office
Last Wednesday afternoon, National Director Eugene Guzon led the office staff in a small group prayer meeting. It was his first time to meet with the staff after returning from his US trip. During the meeting, he cascaded highlights of his very fruitful trip. He expressed his joy on the many exciting ministry partnership opportunities that the Lord opened up for him while he met with some of the members in the States.
ND Eugene gave a short devotional message based on Romans 1:8-13. He expressed his intentionality in holding a weekly prayer meeting not only to serve as a venue for the team to be encouraged in the work that they do, but more importantly, as a humble devotion to God as they set aside a time during the week to gather and worship as workmates.
As we all continue to “Build On Our Strong Foundation”, establishing small groups is one of the many ways by which we Christians can be rooted in God’s Word. --Abi Natividad
ASC Opens House Friends and Family
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them…” those were some of the most famous words spoken by Jesus, and that is what the Ambassador School for Children (ASC) hopes to help achieve this coming March 25, 2008 as it holds its annual Open House event. It will start at 9 AM and here, parents of current students have been asked to invite friends and family members over to witness an exhibit of their children’s works throughout the year. This year’s Open House however, will be extra memorable as a special Blessing of Children Ceremony will be integrated into the program. The said ceremony primarily hopes to give the parents an opportunity to understand the importance of dedicating their ministry of child-rearing to the Lord, second, to lay hands on and bless the students before the school year ends. This event is one good way of reaching out to the community as it aims to build a relationship and establish partnership between families living in the area and the Ambassador School.
ASC is located at #60 Matahimik Street, Teachers’ Village, Quezon City and is now accepting enrollees for school year 2008- 2009. For inquiries, contact 426-2294, Look for Mrs. Adora Barnachea, School Principal. --Abi Natividad

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you." (2 Thessalonians 3:1)
