PDL Seminar Facilitator's Training Held
Last May 28 to 29, a Purpose Driven Life Seminar Facilitators’ Training was held at the WCG National Office in Matahimik Street, QC. This was made possible by our church’s partnership with the International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL). 12 of those who participated came from various WCG local churches, while 2 were non-WCG members.
The lead instructor for the two- day event was Dr. James Whelchel, Executive Director of IGSL. He has been conducting numerous PDL seminars around the country, among the top officers of the PNP and AFP. Dr. Whelchel was assisted by Cris Uy and Art Adriano of the Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ and Col. Mike Morales, formerly an instructor at the Philippine Military Academy who now teaches at IGSL.
According to Missions Director, Dr. Rey Taniajura, the PDL trainees from WCG will make themselves available to facilitate future PDL seminars among military personnel.
They will also be tapped to help train other future PDL facilitators.
The idea to conduct PDL facilitators’ training came about as a result of the meeting that ND Eugene Guzon had with Bishop Efraim Tendero at Camp Aguinaldo with some AFP generals sometime last April. Then it was Dr. Rey Taniajura, an adjunct faculty of IGSL, who finally arranged with Dr. Whelchel to conduct the PDL training at WCG.
Everyone is greatly encouraged to pray for the success of this partnership among different Christian denominations in using the Purpose Driven Life material as a tool in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the men and women of the PNP and the AFP. --Abi Natividad
